The 9th Street Gallery project is train art appreciation, a curation of graffiti masterpieces, or “pieces”, on a 1.3 mi. length of track on 9th Street in Modesto, California. The artists are known (tags) and also anonymous by choice. In keeping with the underground nature of the street art scene, there is an unspoken code among visitors to not discuss the origins or creators of the art. I strikeout my byline because I am only a documenter, a rubbernecker, merely a tourist, in relation to this rolling canvas of art. Look closely and you can also see monikers mixed in with the larger pieces, like the small work on this page. The project began in 2014 and is made using the iPhone panoramic mode.
